About Us

Meet Dr. Stephen H. Simon

Dr. Stephen Simon received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Boise State University in 2001. He began his professional education at Case Western University School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2006. After completing his degree, Dr. Simon gained valuable experience as a general dentist serving at Fort Hood, Texas, for four years in the United States Army. After serving honorably as a dental officer in the military, including a tour in Iraq, he completed a residency in endodontics at Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas, in 2012. As a resident he presented table clinics at the American Association of Endodontist conventions and published research in the Journal of Endodontics, which studied injection pain and onset of local anesthetics. Since then he has practiced endodontics in group practices in the northwest and Texas.

Stephen was raised in Eastern Idaho. He is a bit of a mountain man and has an adventurous spirit. He grew up participating in many outdoor sports and loves to snow ski. As a young man before entering the halls of higher learning he served a two year mission for his church in Bentonville, Arkansas. Stephen, is a loving husband and lucky father to four beautiful girls. He enjoys spending time with his wife and children.

Dr. Simon is excited to provide compassionate care and further develop relationships with patients and colleagues in the Austin area.

 

 

Meet Dr. Rasmussen

Dr. Rasmussen received a duel Bachelor’s degree in Economics and International studies at Brigham Young University with a minor in Asian Studies. Moving from the beautiful Rocky Mountains to the sunny pacific coast, Dr. Rasmussen and his young continued his dental education in Los Angeles where he received his D.D.S. dental degree from UCLA in 2012.

While at UCLA he participated in research using Cone-beam CT scans to map location and probability of the fourth (MB2) canal in maxillary molars. Dr. Rasmussen then took is family coast-to- coast to the University of Florida Dental School to complete his Endodontic certificate and Masters in Oral Biology. Dr. Rasmussen participated in research at the University of Florida in novel root canal irrigation activation techniques.

Prior to moving to the Austin area, Dr. Rasmussen worked for several years in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he was able to hone his skills in surgical and non-surgical root canal therapy.

Before the previously mentioned time living in Utah, California, Florida and South Dakota and prior to his journey in higher education Dr. Rasmussen had had the opportunity to live in several locations inside and outside of the Unite Stats. Other noteworthy locations that Dr. Rasmussen has lived in include: Utah, Belgium, Hong Kong, Pennsylvania and South Africa.

Dr. Rasmussen and his wife Michelle enjoy making life an adventure for their five children (four boys and one lucky well-protected girl). Dr. Rasmussen also enjoys gardening, fly fishing, wood working and has recently picked up training for and running triathlons.
